Summer Ellis-Xavier

An educator and leader in urban schools for over a decade, Summer is skilled in DEI work, innovation and change theory. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts and is Adult Education certified by the University of the District of Columbia. She has designed, led and moderated training on bias, microassaults, trauma and cultural responsiveness, focusing on change and adult education theories of learning. Summer has led DEI and anti-racist training for 75 teachers and leaders accompanied by book study to improve policies and revise intervention practices with DEI frameworks, and participated in focus groups and workshops on systemic racism and CRT in education, rethinking equity in school policies.
